Important notice to clients: We are writing to inform you of certain changes we have noticed during the past several months within the Argentine Immigration Department. Unfortunately, the department is acting increasingly erratic in regard to the adjudication of immigration petitions. We have started experiencing unprecedented delays in what we feel amounts to an abuse of discretion on the part of the government. As a result of these changes in adjudication and a lack of clar...ity from the government we expect some surprises as we continue filing new petitions and renewals. For example, we expect to begin receiving an unprecedented increase in requests for additional evidence for applications that would have previously been considered complete. Please be aware that moving forward the following actions will likely pose a negative impact on your applications and might possibly lead to the loss of status: 1. Being outside the country at the time of expiration of your PRECARIA certificate; 2. Waiting to file your petition or renewal until the last minute As a result of the new reality we are facing it is more important now than ever that we work together in a timely fashion so we can continue meeting our obligations and responsibilities to each other.

What is the difference between a residency permit ("la residencia o disposición") and a DNI? What´s the difference between a Residency Permit (Disposición) and a DNI (Documento Nacional de Identidad)?. Well, the Residency Permit equals the American "greencard". It's the authorization granted by Immigrations to an individual authorizing him/her to reside and take employment in Argentina.... While a DNI is an identification card (actually it looks like a small booklet) granted to residents (brownish color) and citizens (green color). In order to apply for a DNI you must first have a residency issued by Immigrations.
